Easkey Village

Easkey is a quiet village located on the North Coast of Connaught where the Easkey River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. It has two general stores, Butchers, Post Office, pottery shop, Two cafes and one fast food outlet, Hairdressers and two pubs.

The river runs through the centre of the village to provide a charming, traditional environment that is fast disappearing in the new modern Ireland.

The estuary is world famous for its surfing and kayaking waves and hosts many international events every year. The salmon run up the river and still provide a good catch during the season.  Easkey is a favourite stopping place for holidaymakers who want to get away from it all in a magnificent Atlantic setting and on the "Wild Atlantic Way"

The coast around Easkey is rugged and rocky. Powerful Atlantic swells provide perfect surfing conditions for surfing Easkey Right and Easkey Left as both are reef breaks suitable for experienced surfers.  The surf Centre in the village is usually open in the mornings

Easkey provides an excellent base for visiting the beautiful places around the county of Sligo.  There are spectacular panoramic views of mountains, the Atlantic Ocean, Lakes and Rivers.  The many things to do include walking, cycling, surfing, fishing or just absorbing the surrounding countryside.

You can walk along the shore that is abundant with its fossils, rock pools, secret swimming spots and glorious sunsets is a wonderful place to stroll, swim or watch surfers from all over the world take on Easkey's famous waves or spot Dolphins, Seals and birds.
